What we are offering (Offer

The winner’s Prize consists of two return economy-class air tickets for two South African citizens from the same country of residence to South Africa and back.

The winners will need to be two members of the same family.

If the winner is an individual then the other ticket will be forfeited. 

The Prize excludes all other costs, including but not limited to visas, travel insurance, accommodation, meals, transport within South Africa, and any additional travel expenses.

The Prize:

  • Cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another person.
  • Must be used to arrive in South Africa between 1 and 12 December 2025 and return before 31 January 2026
     
6.The family“Family” in this context is defined by two natural persons who are related to each other by blood (parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grand‐child), legal adoption, or marriage/spousal relationship, and who share a family based in one location in South Africa.
 
7.What we are offering the top ten finalists (finalist’s Prize)

Each of the top ten finalists selected will receive a R5 000 (five thousand South African Rands) Shyft wallet top-up.

The finalists may spend the wallet top-up however they choose on the Shyft platform, e.g. buy forex, buy shares or ETFs, make international payments. 

This excludes withdrawals and Shyft-to-Shyft payments.

The finalists may not withdraw the funds for 12 months after receiving them.

8.Who qualifies for the competition

You qualify for the Prize and finalist’s Prize if you are:
8.1 The competition is open only to natural persons (i.e., not companies or other juristic entities).
8.2 Entrants must be citizens of South Africa.
8.3 Entrants must have a valid South African passport and visa to enable travel during the time period specified.
8.4 Entrants must have downloaded the Shyft app prior to entering the competition.
8.5 Entrants must submit a written motivation via the official Jotform explaining why they, or one of their chosen family members, should be flown to South Africa during the festive season.
8.6 Entrants must submit a camera-facing video conveying the motivation submitted in writing.
8.7 By submitting their motivation and video, entrants grant Shyft and its marketing partners permission to use, reproduce, and share these materials for promotional purposes.
8.8 The winner will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by Shyft, based on the submitted written and video motivations.
8.9 The winner and their chosen family member consent to being filmed during the airport arrival and reunion at a South African international airport.
8.10 The winner and their chosen family member consent to the public distribution of the arrival video and related content by Shyft and its marketing partners.
8.11 The winner and their chosen family member consent to Shyft and its marketing partners thanking the public for participating in the voting process on their behalf.
8.12 The winner or their family member abroad must be available to travel to South Africa between 1 December and 12 December 2025.
8.13 The winner is responsible for covering their own transport and accommodation costs:

  • To and from the nearest international airport abroad; and
  • From the South African international airport to the family’s residence and back for departure.
     
9.Who does not qualify for the competition 
  • Anyone who is not a citizen of South Africa.
  • The following people cannot participate in the Competition:
    9.1 directors, employees, agents or consultants of Standard Bank;
    9.2 immediate family members of any of the persons specified in clause 9.1 
    9.3 suppliers of any goods or services under the Competition.
10.VerificationShyft reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants, including proof of citizenship and identity. Failure to provide proof may result in disqualification.
11.Judging panelThe judging panel will consist of both Shyft representatives and members from the Standard Bank group advertising agencies. The Shyft team will nominate internal judges to represent key business areas. The agencies will nominate equivalent representatives.
12.DisqualificationShyft reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these terms or who provides false information
13.Winner selection and notificationThe winner will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by Shyft based on the quality and emotional impact of their written and video motivation.
The winner will be contacted via email or phone by 28 November 2025. If the winner does not respond within two working days, Shyft reserves the right to select another winner.
 
14.How many times can you enter the competitionAs many times as you like.
15.When will the winner be announcedThe winner will be announced and contacted on 28 November 2025.
16.Data privacy and consentBy entering, you consent to Shyft and its marketing partners processing your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) for the purposes of administering the competition, content production, and marketing.
17.Content usage rightsBy entering, you grant Shyft and its marketing partners the right to use, reproduce, edit, and publish your written motivation, video submission, and footage of your airport reunion in any media worldwide for promotional purposes, without compensation.
  1. GENERAL 

    1. Please read the Terms carefully and pay special attention to the clauses that are in bold, as they may limit our liability (responsibility) or involve some risk to you.

    2. We are the promoter of the Prize. Any reference to we/us/our includes our directors, sponsors, agents or consultants, where the context allows for it.

    3. By participating in the competition, you agree to be bound by:

      1. these Terms; 

      2.  the terms and conditions of any of our products or services that you sign up for as part of the competition; and

      3. any supplier terms and conditions (if applicable).

    4. These Terms apply to the Prize and to all information (including promotional or advertising material that is published) in relation to the Prize. 

    5. Shyft, Standard Bank and its affiliates are not responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or expense arising from participation in this competition or acceptance of the Prize, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

    6. We are not responsible if you are not able to successfully take up the Prize for any reason, including because of an interruption in services or a technological failure.

    7. We reserve the right to amend these Terms.

    8. Shyft reserves the right to amend or cancel the competition at any time if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.

    9.  If there is a dispute in respect of these Terms or the Prize, our decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

    10. The Prize cannot be used together with any other similar offer or campaign promoted by us.

    11. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
